  • Meet Kate!

We're so excited to have Kate Alarcon teach at Impress. We ran across some of her work on Instagram and we were amazed at her paper flowers! We saw that she was from Seattle and an hour later we had her on the class schedule. Thank you Kate! We feel lucky to have you teach at Impress.  Check out her work.

    Crepe Paper Roses

If you haven’t had a chance to play with rolls of heavy crepe paper, you’re in for a treat!  This richly colored, flexible material can be cupped, stretched, and frilled to recreate just about any flower. In this class, you’ll make a garden rose in full bloom, along with a leaf sprig, and a sweet little bud to complete the stem.  We’ll cover basic flower construction, along with helpful tips for shaping petals, arranging leaves, and making paper stamens. *please bring scissors and Aleene’s Always Ready Quick Dry Glue. • DEAR LIZZY SERENDIPITY DIES

Love this flower die set from Dear Lizzy!  It's perfect to decorate a card or a package!  For the package below, I used a bright pink tissue paper and these 3-D stickers for the center of the flower.  They are called chalk badges and are self-adhesive.  They come in a package with a variety of styles.

I used both card stock and tissue paper for the thank you card with the black and white washi tape.  It gave the flower some dimension using the two types of textures.

When I was making these cards, the gold hello was one of my favorite cards of the day!  Thanks to Becca, who works in the store, I was introduced to a new product called Glitter Paste by Bo Bunny.  It's so pretty and so easy to use!  I would have never guessed that this product would dry and turn out looking so beautiful! First, I die cut the hello die onto a sheet of plain plastic.  We sell it in sheets and you can create your own stencils with it!  I set aside the "hello" that was die cut and now use the sheet as my stencil.  I fill in the space with the paste using a small flat spatula.  I remove the sheet and then my word is left on the paper and I wait for it to dry.  It's simply amazing and doesn't curl your paper either!  This is going to be used a lot during the holidays.
