  • Weekend Project: Stock up!

We are working on several projects at Impress and are excited about our new release!  Our annual sale is also right around the corner as well!  All of this means, that we are busy working on new samples to put on the web and in the store.  However, it's amazing how many times I will have stuff around my desk that has been stamped from a previous project or just other ribbons, scraps, you name it and then it will get incorporated into a card that wasn't originally meant for that card.  To be honest, it's Friday and the kids just got out of school and our spring break has started.  I didn't get all of the things on my list completed today so I thought I would quick die cut several word dies and water color some background paper.  It seems like it might be a good plan to build up on some of those supplies so that I can have some good stuff laying around on my desk.  I might not have a plan for them right now but it's nice to have a reserve to pull from.  I love putting different combinations of watercolors together.

I used my handy Kuretake  Gansai Tambi, I like the bright colors.  I also use Tim Holtz watercolor paper.  It's a nice bright white and the watercolor stays true and doesn't fade once it's dry.

When I'm making a stash of words, I'll die cut  gold mirror paper, black and dark slate.  These are pretty basic and seems to be what I end up using anyway.  They are pretty safe colors for my cards. Have a great weekend!

  • Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop

12661786_10208877635328742_1011373880191829209_nHello!  We were so excited when Amy at Coffee Loving Cardmakers invited us to be a sponsor and participate in the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!  We recently got back in our Seattle clear stamp set and it has a couple coffee stamps that worked perfect for this hop.

I created this card stamping the coffee stamp and fussy cutting them out. For the cheers die, I used gold mirror paper and black paper.  I mounted them together slightly off-set so that you get a shadow look, this helped to make the word pop on the card.  The printed paper is from the On Trends 2 6x6 paper by My Minds Eye.  I love this paper pack!  There are so many good patterns and love the colors.  I also lined the folded card with a piece of the mirror paper along the fold.

Here is a quick bonus card that I did using a few more stamps from the set.  I love the look of white embossing powder on black paper, especially for sentiments.  A watercolor background is all you need and a little washi tape!  I did use glossy accents to create the coffee items to appear glossy on the card.  I took a close up picture so you could view it a little better.

Thanks for inviting us to participate!  It's a fun theme.  We are giving away a $25.00 gift certificate to Impress!  Thanks for stopping by!
