  • Embossing and Gelatos

We love to add texture to a card by using an embossing folder. This one is called "woodgrain" and it's one of our favorites, especially this time of year. Sometimes- we just like the look of embossed texture as is but this time we thought it would be fun to enhance it with silver metallic gelatos. Want to duplicate this look? Emboss your paper and then take the gelatos and gently rub the creamy pigment against any raised surface. Use a light touch as you don't want to completely cover the trees. After the gelatos is applied, wet your finger and smooth out the silver color. The more you  rub, the more shimmer you'll get.

  • Faux bois

Do you love washi tape? Then this wood necessities set from My Mind's Eye is a great one to add to your collection. We've found lots of creative uses for it already. For this card we lay a few strips of the tape down side by side and then diecut it with Savvy's peace die. Notice the bottom on this card - it's one of our new favorite stamps called sprinkled snow but as you can see, when stamped in a colored ink it becomes ground.

On this next card we used the tape to make a background fitting for the antler die..   We'll be using this tape a lot for fall cards. If you're loving the wood look, you might also like the coordinating wood designer paper.

  • Embossing Plates

Here are a few card ideas using our new featured item!  Lifestyle Crafts has released several new embossing templates and they have switched up the size, making them more card friendly.  The one used below is called: Script Embossing Folder and you get 2 styles in one!

On the card above, I lightly rubbed pigment ink (neon, coral) over the embossed paper to give a distressed look.

  • Neon Pens

We had the pleasure to watch an artist use these neon pens at the New York Stationary Show and it was truly inspiring.  They are gellyroll pens and glide on the paper when you write with them!

It's easy to add a hint of neon to any project.  I love the look of the neon on the chalk washi tape!

  • Dressing up your envelope!

It's wedding season and there is so much you can do to put that personal touch on even the simpliest of invitations.  The envelope is a perfect place.  There are so many great printed pattern paper that it's easy to line an evelope to match the invitation and it's really simple to do!

    plain envelopes

Here are some basic envelopes.  I make a template by tracing the envelope flap onto a piece of paper, you could use a heavier weight paper since you'll be using this to trace.  Then, you'll want to cut that out and you just need it to be long enough to cover the inside of the envelope.  Use a corner punch to create the rounded point.

I love this corner rounder set, both sizes are perfect for your corner rounding needs!  For this envelope we used the 1/2" size.

This is quick and easy and has a lot of impact for any invitation or card!  Here is a wedding sample set that we have currently displayed in the

We recently also received this new toole that comes in a variety of colors!  I love the width!  Our tree rose stamp is one of those classic images that can be used for so many projects.  It's been one of my favorites from the spring line!

I've embossed with it, sponged with color (like the invitation set about), I've watercolored with it.  It's a great stamp with lots of potential!

  • Neon

You can find hints of neon everywhere!  I love to use confetti to dress up a table for a party!  And it can be used for so much more!  I was thrilled when we found this product at the NSS and couldn't wait for it to arrive.

  • Floral Clear Stamp Set

    floral clear set

I will have to admit that we are from the real rubber, wood block generation!  And when clear stamps first came out, they weren't that great and were no comparison to real rubber but they have come a long ways and with a lot of research and testing of different manufacturers, we felt like we couldn't resist creating a few sets ourselves.  Here's our floral clear set that was created exclusively for Impress!  We love it!  Our Fresh Ink line works perfectly with them to create these beautiful card creations.  We hope you enjoy our clear sets as much as we do!  Inks used:  peach, mango, strawberry and basil.

There's so many great products in the Market Street line by My Mind's Eye!

These gold letters are perfect for using on a banner.  We attached a few letters to spell out the word "best" using jute and a small hole punch.  The letters fit in our kraft stationary boxes  which make a perfect gift for Dad!

I love all of their decorative tapes!  Here's a sample using one as a background.  Creating a personalized tag card is easy with these chalk circle tags.  I used our favorite white pen to write on the tag.
