We are sending you good vibes with this shaker card! Flower power!  Can you imagine having this van to drive around in the summer? We can't get enough of this new die from Flora & Fauna and thought it was perfect to use with the Impress sequin kit.

To start, die cut a piece of white card stock with the van die so that you get the shape of the van. Now that you have the shape of the van cut out,  add a piece of window plastic on the back side of the card.

Then add mounting tape around the edge of the van and sprinkle in the sequins. I added some chunky glitter to give a little extra sparkle!

Peel off the tape and mount a piece of cardstock to secure all the little pieces. Glued onto a card so you can't see the backside of the shaker card when you open it up. I stamped the new Impress sunset stripe along the bottom to look like a road using Fresh Ink - mango and stamped the good vibes stamp in Versafine onyx black.

We are glad you joined us for the hop. Be sure to leave comments on everyone's site! Your next stop is Ellen Hutson LLC.

  • A Spring Thank you!

Theresa made this cute card at our University Village location and we couldn't help but post it on the blog! What a great idea to make the flower pop up on the card by cutting it out and mounting it with foam tape. The subtle touch of glitter glue is perfect for the finishing touches and gives the metallic shimmer to match the die cut thanks word cut out. What a great card for spring!

  • Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

We are excited to be back and participating in the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

It's raining, it's pouring and the white cup is sprinkling some rain or coffee onto the flowers! I love this time of year when you can start to see signs of Spring. The first layer of this card is the rain drop background using a rain stencil, a dauber and Fresh Ink (aqua) ink pad. You only need to sponge the top portion of the card.

Next, I used some of my favorite Fresh Ink green ink pads (kale, mint, aloe) using a variety of foliage stamps. It's easy to mix and match foliage stamps. These weren't meant to be stamped together and are from a couple different companies but are perfect for stamping together on a card like this. You could easily do a combination similar to this as a full background.

The pink flower is a combo style so the flower is the main stamp and on the side, you'll find the flower center piece and also a solid leaf stamp that can go with the flower. I used Fresh Ink colors (grapefruit and persimmon) that compliment the greens.

Impress coffee spring blog hop 2

I like the technique of placing a cut out going off the card. I stamped the polka boots in Fresh Ink (persimmon) ink and fussy cut before mounting into the card.

Thanks for participating! Be sure to go back to the main Coffee Lovers Blog Hop page and visit all of the vendors for your chance to win some prizes. Our prize is 10 free Fresh Ink pads of your choice. (60.00 value).

    Good luck in the hop!

  • Oxide Ink and Upcoming Events

If you haven't heard, there's a new Tim Holtz Ink in town and it's called Distress Oxide Ink. It's so popular we can barely keep it in stock. There are 12 colors. They picked their most popular colors from the regular Distressed Ink line to start with.  The inks have a creamy chalk like appearance but they also activate with water.

    oxide ink 3

I used the Tim Holtz blending tool to create my blend of colors using Cracked Pistachio, Broken China and Faded Jeans onto smooth white card stock. For the water effect, I sprinkled water onto the card using my fingers. It dries in a few minutes and then you have this fun background paper.

    oxide ink 4

I like to create several pieces of colored paper at a time and then have them in my reserve for later. For this card, I used one of the new clear sets from Flora and Fauna. You can stop by our stores this weekend to receive 10% off your Flora and Fauna purchase, and if you buy 3 sets then you get a free Fresh Ink pad of your choice.

Have a great weekend! Stop by to check out all the fun new products that have arrived this week.

  • Color Trend!

If you are looking for some inspiration, then you've visited the right place. We are making cards for spring and love this ink color combination.IMG_9131

The Fresh Ink colors used: pool, steel blue, peony, and grapefruit. IMG_9134

Here is a few started projects using the same colors. You'll want to mark your calendars because we will be having our Fresh Ink event again in the near future. It was such a big hit last time, we've had several customers ask us to schedule it again. Stop by April 1st or 2nd, you'll be able to make a Fresh Ink color chart and we will have 20% off all Fresh Ink on those days too!
