  • Guest Blogger: Amy Tsuruta

Hi!  It's Friday and we have Amy back as our guest blogger!  She has really outdone herself with these cards, I love how she did both a feminine card and a masculine card (and we all struggle with those!) using some of our favorite Impress and Savvy products.

Love by Amy Tsuruta for Impress + Savvy Stamps

If you know Amy, you know that she loves coffee!  This bear is a perfect fit for this card.  Love the hearts stamped on the side as well.

This card is absolutely beautiful!  I love the gold, black with the combination of glitter paper, vellum and the gold stitching to attach the vellum!  A very striking combination! You can hop on over to Amy's blog to get a breakdown of the steps she did to create the cards posted today! Nice work Amy!!

  • How to foil with your stamps!

We took the designs we wanted to foil and stamped them with black ink on a sheet of card stock.  Then we simply took that sheet and made copies at our local printer (Kinko's) and had them make a copy with their laser printer.  The laser printer is the key component - it is the toner that works with the foil.

We love all of the foil colors, they are amazing!  We have been having a lot of fun with COPPER! We used the Minc to foil and it really is a great machine.  Super user friendly and it has heat temperature controls based on what paper products you might be foiling.  Honestly, we tried our laminator and it didn't work for us.

We love foil and it looks so professional.  We have quite a few classes that we are offering in this session that incorporate foil project.  Check them out here!

  • GUEST BLOGGER: Amy Tsuruta

We are excited to have our very first guest blogger!  When we first started to look for someone to feature, we knew that Amy Tsuruta would be a perfect fit. She isn’t just any blogger, she’s from Seattle and is one of Impress’ customers! Many of you might know her. If not, here is a chance to meet Amy and see her style. She created 3 wonderful cards for us!

  • Watercolor Monogramed Stationery

What a great gift to give someone and it's so easy!  I just took some watercolor paper and embossed the initial in copper embossing powder.  Then I took my favorite watercolor set and colored a couple light colors along the top and let it dry.  Add a colored envelope and you have the perfect set to give to someone!

    Thanks for stopping by!

  • Woodgrain pattern

I've had a few woodgrain stamps but I like this one from Hero.  The detail of the fine lines in the pattern are nice and it's the perfect size to stamp as the background for your card.

Of course, the tag is adorable as well!  This is a card created by Heather Campbell when she came and taught in the store last month.  I love the attention to detail.

  • Watercolor wreath

When stamps aren't as detailed, then you do have an option to paint on the back of the stamp.  For this card, we brushed with watercolors on the back of the stamp and then stamped onto watercolor paper.  This card also has gold, glitter dots and this was done using a white medium glue (like Crafter's Pick) and dilute it with water so that it's a very fluid consistency.  Take your cleaned brush, dip it into the glue and then splatter it onto the card.  Next, sprinkle the loose gold glitter and it will stick to the glue.  I love how fine some of the dots are on the card!

We also love our card stands!  They are perfect for displaying those handmade holiday cards you're receiving.
